Susan Douglas - CEO, Trustee
Susan Douglas is CEO of the Eden Academy and was instrumental in its founding and development.
Susan has spent nearly 25 years working in the educational arena including 15 years as a teacher and headteacher in West London. In 2006, she left headship and has since held key roles with a wide variety of national and international organisations including the British Council, Teaching Leaders, the National College of Teaching and Leadership (the NCTL, an executive body that is part of the Department of Education), and the Eden Academy Trust.
In her position as Senior Adviser at the British Council, Susan provides sector expertise and advice to a wide number of educational programmes involving ministries of education, school leaders, teachers and young people across approximately 60 countries worldwide. She currently has responsibility for leadership and professional development programmes and conferences in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa and works with headteachers and ministry officials throughout these regions.
Susan has also contributed to national policy in England most recently being part of the Expert Group writing the National Standards of Excellence for Headteachers (published January 2015).
